The winners of the 2007 Laurel Awards were announced at the Awards Dinner held in Adelaide on Thursday 11th October 2007.
Outstanding achievement in communicating through print media (magazine or newspaper).
WINNER - Catherine Stewart for "The Death of the Mixed Shrubbery"
Three entries were short-listed but the judges were unable to determine an outright winner. No Laurel awarded.
Original book by an Australian or New Zealand writer published between 1 August 2004 and 30 June 2007.
WINNER - Penny Woodward and Pam Vardy for Community Gardens
Outstanding achievement in communicating through visual means (photography/ illustration/ camera work), judged on a single image or series of images or segments.
WINNERS - Jane Davenport for The Garden Guardians and Lorna Rose for Small by Design
Outstanding achievement in digital communication (website or CD-ROM).
WINNER - Gardening Australia for ABC TV ON Line
Outstanding achievement in communicating through a radio programme, segment or series; no outright winner, so no Laurel awarded
Outstanding achievement in communicating through a television programme, segment or series.
WINNER - Josh Byrne for Permaculture and Organic Gardening. ABC TV.
Outstanding achievement in communicating specific horticultural education (writer, broadcaster, publisher or educator).
WINNERS - Susan Burns and Miffy Gilbert for Horticolour Foundation Plantdeck
Hall of Fame Award for longstanding contribution to communicating and encouraging a love of gardening to the public.
WINNER - Michael Keelan
Hall of Fame Award for longstanding contribution to communicating and encouraging a love of gardening to the public.
